Tags, and Tag Clouds
All this while, I was using a third-party plug-in to manage your blog tags. Since the recent update to the site, this third-party plug-in is no longer necessary as the main script comes with native tagging support already included.
Now that the native tagging support is here to stay, I intend to use it the way it was supposed to be used - that includes showing them under each blog you post/publish, and in a tag cloud (showing your popular tags) somewhere on your blog.
It is fortunate that I had installed the tag plug-in previously, because we have all this existing (tag) data that can be simply copied to the new database table. So if you have always been filling-in tags for your posts before, you will not have to fill them up again. Whew!
Besides adding tags to the bottom of your posts, and adding a tag cloud somewhere on your weblog, I have also used the same tag information to insert a keywords meta tag in the markup of your blog posts, if you have included tags for these posts in the first place! This keywords meta tag is already working here - just look at source view of this page (Firefox: CTRL+U).
Of course if you have never filled-in any tags/keywords for your blog posts before, you can do them now; just edit your existing blog posts and fill them up in the space provided for the tags.
