WordPress Plugin: Sidebar Widget

Today, I managed to get my first WordPress plugin installed and working. Introducing the popular WordPress Plugin: Sidebar Widgets.

What does Sidebar Widgets do? A quote from the plugin page:

It’s called Sidebar Widgets because it allows you to move things (widgets) around, in and out of your sidebar. A widget is something that you might want on your sidebar, such as a category list or the most recent comments or a link to your admin pages. There is even a widget that lets you type whatever you want in the sidebar, such as some HTML or Javascript code.

In plain English, it allows you, the blogger, to easily (EASILY) paste anything to the sidebar of your blog. Want to add an advertisement to the sidebar? Just get the Javascript code from your provider, paste it to a Textn sidebar widget, drag and drop it on the Sidebar, and you’re done! No need to know HTML, or even Javascript — and best of all, no need to edit (Template) files, no need to have access to the web server or uploading files. Easy.

Still, I have much to learn about this plugin and I will endeavour to figure it out thoroughly. I think it can be extended further if I want it to be really useful here.
